OOPs I spoofed it ! now i cant get Mode B

I spoofed a 79fl drive to benq firmware. but now i cant get the 79fl in mode b so i can update the firmware.

i use slax but it recognizes the drive as a vad6038 or whatever and it never goes to spinning up drive.............
instead it times out and retries in 5 seconds. with same results

can someone help or am i SOL

Have you tried Jungle Flasher and a 79 unlock cd. just press send mode b in jungle flasher then insert unlock cd (it directs you to the link burn with imgburn by selecting the .cue file.) then it should flash.

i have a nvidia sata chipset and cant get it to work with jungle flasher. any ideas there. i am new to JF

Get Jungle Flasher running and select the proper I/O port under the Hitachi tab. Yes, it will show the BenQ VAD6038, but if you eject the drive, and send Mode-B, it should respond to the inquiry.

Thanx leerage. i got it to work. i guess my io port driver thing wasnt installed right.
i used the "Jungle Flasher Trouble Shooting.pdf" do a search on google if you need the pdf
