If your drive is still operational, the key is in the drive firmware. Just dump the drive firmware and you will have your key.

Read his post, he knows that. He said if he buys a mainboard with a key. Yes this will work.

A BenQ will work with any board. As long as you know what the original drive the board original came with. If you buy a board with the key provided, please ask what type of drive the board originally had. You will need to spoof the BenQ to what the original drive was. If you don't spoof you will get an error upon the XBOX 360 starting up.

I didn't think this mattered as long as you had the key for the board. Also, I would assume the keys would tell you?

A key copied into a text file won't tell you anything. If you don't spoof the drive, the XBOX 360 is expecting say a Hitachi 79 and you put in a BenQ, you will get a E66 or E64.. some error of that nature.

The drive must be spoofed to fool the XBOX 360 into thinking the new drive is the same drive that it originally had.

I understand that. But if a key comes with a motherboard, you should be able to spoof with that to any drive. At least that's how I understood it. I have spoofed before and simply loaded the firmware and hit spoof.

Right. But if he doesn't have the firmware he can't spoof the drive. You need the firmware to know what drive belongs with that mobo. And you need the key to marry that drive to the mobo. Having the key alone is useless unless you either

- already know what model and version drive belongs with the board
or
- you flash every different drive available until you find the right one.

Gues I was thinking that "Keys with motherboard" meant the firmware was included as well. That would be a nightmare to go through all of them and not worth the time for what I charge.
