My psp with 1.50 firmware won´t play downloaded iso or cso files, why?

Hi folks, just wondering why my modded psp with 1.50 firmware won´t play any downloaded iso or cso file games? I currently have two memory sticks with at least 3 games on each and they play the games on them just fine (I downloaded these files a good few months ago now) but in the last few weeks I have attempted to play recently downloaded games on my psp and all I get is the stupid "the game could not be started" message! I even tried playing a normal UMD the other day and even that would´nt start! any thoughts would be much appreciated, Do I possibly need to re-mod my psp or something like that or will that mess up my current games on my two memory sticks?

update to custom firmware. 1.50 is pretty much useless now.
