I recently bought UFC undisputed and i have a question. How do i backup the game from the disk? Is there a specific program to use in order to do so, and do you make an ISO file with it? Im lost..
I also found out that i have the samsung ts-h943a dvd drive and was wondering if i need to buy a connectivity kit for it in order to flash the drive. Im a noob on all of this and i have read some tutorials but i just want to make sure thru people that have done it. Im in the process of figuring out what i need in order to do this.

To backup original games you will need a dvd rom drive with kreon firmware installed or your 360 flashed with ixtreme firmware 1.6

Ok, i think i get it. So you can update a dvd drive on your computer to copy backups or you can do it from the 360 after you do the firmware. My next question is regarding the blaster 360 ne. I have read that it makes it to where you dont have to open your xbox to update firmware, but is it ok to use with live?
Also, what would you recommend doing, just using the xbox to pc to backup games or get the dvd drive for my pc and do it there?

Thats right, you only have to open your xbox once with the blaster to link up the sata port, it is safe to play online with blaster installed, up to a certain extent anyway, when ever you flash your console it is not 100% you wont get banned, there is always a chance, but these guys who make these firmwares are very good at what they do and do there best to avoid these bans, i have just bought myself a kreon drive for burning original games, didnt want to have xbox running aswell as pc when i can do it all through pc at once, also 1.6 does have some other security but i think thats more for the future, so i would say get a kreon drive

ok, i just found a site where they sell pc dvd drives with kreon fireware pre installed. Do you ever have to update these at all? also, would it be advised to get the the blaster 360ne so that when updates come i can just flash with ease or would you recommend just getting the connectivity kit and have to open it for new flashes? Thanks

samsung flashed with kreon, you'll need to search to get the models that the flashing works for
xbox backup creator software-free
image burning software, personally i use clonecd however imgburn should do the trick & it's free
recommended discs are verbatim dl discs from singapore
obviously a dual layer burner
as for burn speed i use x1 or x2.4 but no faster that don't mean you have to burn slow it just means more time for laser to get a good burn in on the disc which leads to less errors,to date my fail rate is 0 with more than 100 backups, you can download iso's off torrents problem with that is if you look thru the forums is the high fail rate & a pile of freshly made coasters..lmao..

Not sure about having to update firware for kreon drives, suppose you will have to eventually as all firmware goes out of date but its not hard at all to do. Its upto you whether you get the blaster or not, it doesnt take long to open a console when you have been doing it for a bit, but takes a while at first, i personally wouldnt bother as ixtreme firmwares dont come out that often and even if we get more soon, like i said its not hard to open your box again!!

Ok, i am going to not worry about blaster, ill just get the connectivity kit pro then. I found kreon drive and ill just buy one so that i can do it on the pc alone. Next up is figuring out how to flash my drive on the 360.. I know i need the kit, a sata pci card on my pc, and is that it?

Actually, it's quite the opposite, as some tests showed (and you'll realize if you use cheaper media). When burning slower you produce more errors which are written onto the disc. That might be an error for a bad burn, as can be seen here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/772614#4679150
This whole "burn slow" rumor comes from back in the days when burners were still newer with less protection.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Eisherz: I have always burned mine at 2.4 and all have been fine although wolverine has been abit jumpy at times! Could that be that its been burnt to slow or to fast?
Beno: what drive do you have in your console?

not trying to hijack this topic or anything, but i didnt want to create a new thread about the same exact thing.

Wow, seriously, if you could just spoof every drive as a kreon drive, why would anybody pay up to 50 US$ just to get one of the 4 Samsung drives that actually support these modified Samsung firmwares?

I don't know. I burn mine always at 8x and didn't have any jumpy games. But there could be multiple reasons to that, especially if it is only this one game, maybe a bad rip or bad media or the game originally had some bugs. If that speed works for you, stick with it, no reason in risking disks.

Never tried schtrom as xbc came with the drive on cd,however there is no setup involved as it detects the external sammy automatically & all i do is hit the start button of the software, apart from selecting name & where it extracts too that's pretty much it,it would be more complicated i spopse if you want to inject or stealth or whatever even so those buttons are there, not that i ever use them

The Singaporee verbs i use are rated @2.4 max & are what majority round here recommend(make of not speed) unless my supplier isn't getting faster media for some reason,no matter i've had no hitches to date & when taking into consideration the amount of ps2 games i've backed up including movies which i keep at around 4x burn speed on single layer dvd's they all are fine, mind you the latest batch of single layer dvd's won't burn slower than 6x with nero which is fine as they seem ok & no errors,so i could get faster verbs i guess would certainly cut down the time it takes to make a game
