New to "Ipod world" XM truck radio download to Ipod?

I've been trying to help a friend download his Truck&Satellite XM tunes.I heard that I would have to use my PC and get tunes through Mp3 or?He is willing to pay(which he does already),for the tunes(Favorites)If you have a subscription,I wonder if its like recording off Cable or Satellite TV? Except of course,we're talking audio only,DUH!His?& mine if we have a pug on an XM in dash receiver,can we reverse or download tunes? I don't have an Ipod,except for my Grandson ,I know not what to do? Thanks ,if ya can help.I have another thread about this a month or so ,but can't locate it.So,sorry if I'm repititious!

You can either down load files or audio capture the tunes from XM. A better place for this question is the audio forum.
