4.0 Softmod problem!!

hey i have a problem with the 4.0 softmod..i had everything working fine and then 1 of my buddys installed a cios file.. not sure what it was.. and when i tried loading backups i kep getting errors.. i did some reading and tried everything i could find on the site .. everything pointed me in the direction to install cios7 ..i tried installing the cios7 and i kept getting errors.. i downgraded my system back to 3.3u deleted the channels (HBC and backup loader) and eformatted the memoey.. i then upgraded to the 4.0 system menu again and retried the 4.0 softmod tut i found here: http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=113

i can install the ios35 was but when i try to install the CIOSv7.wad it says ERROR! (ret = -1035)

of anyone can help me let me know.. this is where i get stuck when i load it this time...

i have no idea why it worked the first time but not when i downgraded and went back up to 4.0

it also let me install HBC and Backup Loader.. when i put in a backup it says DVD read error (324)
i know its not the media because this exact backup worked before my buddy messed with my system... any help at all will be appreciated..
when i lead up gamma the Backup Launcher loads 0.3 Gamma IOS249 and when i click on the homebrew channel it says IOS36 V12.22
