If anyone has successfully done this please help me out. I was using Iprep v008 to to try to flash my drive but no luck. when i try to dump the key I get a msg like "key is in hex format could not read inquiry.bin/key.bin ect. I think its because my motherboard does not have a com port on it but i don't know. my drive has been flashed in the past so I had the dummy from the first time and I injected my key into the ixtreme 1.6 firmware using my xp laptop and jungle flasher. but when I went back to iprep it erased my firmware but then it could not find my lite-on afterwards for the flash. I tried to play games with my drive afterwards and everything still works perfect so I don't even know if it really erased. I tried setting my sata conroller to ide mode, I tried jungle flasher in vista 64 but can't install portio drivers (auto or manual), and i tried power cycling the drive in iprep.
my system setup is a pegatron violit motherboard with onboard sata nividia, amd phenom quadcore, ck3 lite with probe.
Sorry for my long post, but any tips would be appreciated.

use the dummy to build a CFW through jungle flasher...
create a bootable flash drive and load the CFW and dosflash onto it...
boot from the flash drive and use the L-O erase command and dosflash to write the CFW..

DosFlash v1.7 (DosFlash32 Windows GUI) should work on Vista x64.

I have never been able to get Dosflash 1.7 to work for me and I have vista 64 bit. Everytime I try to run it, admin or otherwise, it tells me windows stopped it from running.

Hello Mate,
Good luck with the 64BIT. I also have vista 64Bit and I had no luck .. spent hours and days trying to flash and its just not happening..
I finally purchased a 80gb hdd only to install windows xp and use only to flash the xbox 360 drive.. this type of things work much better on xp .. so my advice would be stop wasting time and trying.. just go out there and get an additonal hdd something like an 80gb or even smaller put xp on it and off you go !
Let us know what happens!

I've been looking into using a dual-boot system or something to get xp on my vista 64 comp. Does anyone know if it is possible to install a 32bit os on a comp that originally used a 64 bit os? I had tried to dual boot before but after I created a partition I tried to install an old xp disc from my girlfriend's comp but vista would not allow it. it kept saying something like, this is an old version of windows and would not let me proceed.

it wouldnt let you proceed because you need to install the oldest OS first, then the next one. however, you could just put XP on a separate HD and that would work just fine.

dosflash 32, made to run in windows
And I have installed xp as dualboot before, with vista 64 as the original OS. Didn't have to uninstall it or anything. Just ran the xp disc at startup and chose the partition I made. It worked fine for me.
Only problem with doing that is you need to make a vista recovery disc or repair disc as xp will erase the boot file in vista and you will only be able to boot into xp. Then you run the repair disc, choose repair boot I believe it is, and you will then boot into vista. Edit the boot file to add xp to the OS selection and your good to go. Atleast it worked for me.

You could always use a live linux cd to partition the hdd.
I triple boot with vista, xp, and ubuntu.
My install order was XP, Vista, and Ubuntu.
Is this something where you can just save all your files you need/want, and reinstall your OSs in the correct order?
Would save some hassle, but I know not always possible.

nah, tripple boot with xp pro, vista ultimate, and windows 7. use vista boot pro to make your default whatever you want it to be, change the hold times and anything else you need.
but either way, i believe that the OP has found out how to flash his lite-on either though he hasnt bothered to reply in a while.

Yeah it sucked an no I didn't dislocate it trying to run out lol. It happened trying to get in lol. I was a few min late and was running down the isle to front of the theater, soon as I got to a seat I wanted the whold room went black. I tried to sit in the second seat but my leg hit the cup holder, I panicked twisted around and somehow my knee got dislocated. yes it was epic dislocation barley kept from yelling out in front of fifty people. and I had to sit there for two hours while my knee swelled up.
