Japanese Wii gone USA

Okay, so I have a Japanese Wii, because of punch out I changed things over with the AnyRegion Changer and made it a USA wii, but I have a deeper question now that I've done that.

First, back up games are no longer recognized on my main menu, only through the back up launchers.... Is there anyway I can fix that? Secondly, not that I'm going to do an update now, but if I was, would the update come through being a US update, or would it be a Japanese one and brick it?
