Okay. So I read up on how to mod my PSP and found that I needed to hardmod the battery. Here's what went down, could you tell me if I totally screwed it up/how to fix it/what to do next?

I took an exacto knife and started slowly cutting along the seems (but not the top protrusion), as soon as the knife went in a little bit a tiny bit of smoke came out, the guide I was reading said this might happen but I stopped and tried the battery and it worked fine. As I pulled the battery a little more open a little more smoke came out and the battery started to heat up, I was now very wary but continued to open it up. The heat subsided and I was very careful breaking the peg thing, (I am very sure I did the right one). The battery didn't work at all upon placing it in my PSP, however when I plug it in I get the flashing orange light indicating it's charging. It has been charging for 30 minutes now without response. Should I let it charge longer or is it dead? Thanks.

I didn't see a way to edit my post so...

I took a closer look at the battery and it appears when trying to open it I ruptured the silver part, revealing black underneath. THis is bad right?

I ended up getting a new one from my friend. I tried it again and this time it went really smooth, no problems at all and now I have a working Pandora Battery without spending anything =)
