Punch-Out!! NTSC w/ 4.0U, cIOS rev 10, IOS60 Patched & TROUBLE!

I have an NTSC Wii with an NTSC backup copy of Punch-Out!!
I have a YAOSM modchip and some VC games/.wad files installed.
Here's the problem:
Earlier today, I had 3.2U Wii Firmware. I already had the homebrew channel, and I installed cIOS rev. 10 and IOS 60 trucha patched. I then installed Waninkoko's 4.0 upgrader and checked to make sure it installed. I went into the Wii System Settings and it says 4.0U.
However, when I put Punch-Out!! in, it still says that I need a System Update to be installed.
Does anybody know what's going on with this? Why can't I play Punch-Out!! ?

You need to install backup launcher or install starfall on 3.2 to avoid seeing the update icon or you can install usb loader and boot game from usb drive. So many ways to make it work.

I have USB loader 1.4 and cIOS rev 9 and Punch-Out!! works like a dream! I just started playing it yesterday and I've almost got it beat so the novelty of it's going to wear off pretty soon, but it's still a fun game.
Give the USB loader a try... it's great!

I don't want to buy a USB hard drive. Is there any way to get my burnt disc to work?

Just do the update.
You might be missing an IOS that needs to be installed.
You can always run the patched IOS60 again if you need to.
You can also run IOS Downgrader which will downgrade and patch all other IOS with Trucha fix.

Try running a BackupLoader from the homebrew channel to launch the game you have, I think they ignore the Update.
Or Run Brickblocker on the Punchout .iso file, then reburn it. Removes the updates. I almost always use brickblocker and don't have any problems.

I brickblocked and reburned, and the game works. I'm still frustrated that the disc wouldn't just run normal, since I have 4.0U running.

It doesn't matter what firmware is on your Wii, if the game contains an update it will make you check for an update the first time you run it. Since that game has the 4.0 update(I think) and your Wii was already 4.0, it would not have updated anything and would not ask you anymore. However if it was a Pal version, I know it was NTSC, then it would have updated to a Pal 4.0 firmware and would have Bricked your Wii. Thats why I always use brickblocker before burning, it takes about 30 seconds to save a lot of possible problems!!

I am having trouble with Punch Out , Donkey Konk Jet , Night at Museum. Seems all newer game I get black screen. I don't have homebrew channel. Can someone please give steps in the least technical way. Where do I get homebrew? I have brickblocker. But it didnot seem to work.
Any help will be appricated.

For those using 3.2u and you are modded(HARDWARE BASED)then all you have to do is instal ios60 and cios 7. Then you will have to upgrade. There is no need to use teh Waninkoko's 4.0 upgrader as it raises the possability of a brick.
After you do this then you can install the update through the wii internet if possible.
If you are still at 3.2 then simply to upgrade to 4.0 through the system menu.

You're missing an IOS that you need for the game to work. You need to update to cIOS rev 9. This will solve your problems. NTM and Punch-out are both 4.0 updates. Since you don't have Homebrew then that could be an issue I suppose. Homebrew isn't something bad to have. EVEN if you don't use it like most of us, you would be able to support your modchip alot easier with it. Just a rule of thumb if you don't know what you're doing.. Then don't do it.

Either you have an out of region game disc and it wants to install Weather/News channels.
Or you may not have a certain IOS installed that the update wants to install.
As I said before just update with the game disc (if it is the same region as your system).

I just updated wii to 4.0 and now I can't get any backup to play. WIIKEY 1. I didn't update. Can you tell me if I can load the new ISO from dvd disc. Can't seem to get scn dick to read on my computer.
Would that matter with my older games?

Explain your steps that you took so we can tell you what happened. You're saying you updated to 4.0U but then you said you didn't update. So explain step by step what you did.

Didn't do much tex. All I did was update to 4.0 New games work most old older ones don't Endless Ocean and warioware for instance. I have downloaded an utility to install but unsure where to install. Also have down load iso60 and am looking for cIOS rev 9. I am very good at operating computer but not as good at consoles. That is why I asked. And I asked for a guide that is not so technical. I would appreciate any help you can give,
