Modded 7000 series PS2 - "disc could not be read"

i bought a 7000 series ps2 a month ago n also got it modded but all of a sudden I've been experiencing a problem "disc could not be read" , i took it 2 a couple of vendors but all of them are giving different explanations for the problem one have said its the problem wid the lens as it might have got damaged while inputting the disc n d other one said the motherboard of the 7000 series is very problematic it heatens up the lens and breaks it down.

please help me wid the problem

If its a V12 PS2, then whoever put the modchip in should have done a "laser fix" also for you.

If it was not done, then it is more than likely the laser is getting weak now and probably needs replaced.

They aren't expensive and not hard to replace.
