Hi there,
Im thinking of buying a dvd writer, and as the xbox is my main dvd player, will it accept copied dvds, preferably without any mod chips?

I think simon35 is asking about dvd movies. When I disable my modchip, essentially making my xbox "normal" again, it will play backed up dvd movies with the dongle no problem. If you want to play backed up games though you will need a modchip.

I can play dvd-r movies on my xbox with out a mod chip no problem.

I Play copied DVD's also with my Xbox works fine.....DVD-R

Hi i was having the same problem...i am using dvd43 with dvd x copy platinum ver. 4.0.3.8. I know the xbox plays dvds cuz i copied city of god from a bootleg from someone and it works on xbox...but then i tried burning from a 'purchased' dvd and didnt work on xbox. HELP.

un-modded xbox,s can play copied dvd movies, but some xbox,s have the crappy thomson drive which can only read certain types of media, i know of 4 types that work

RITEK DVD-R
BULPAQ DVD-R ORANGE
PRINCO DVD-R 2X
PHILIPS DVD+R (i use these, i really recomend them)

so if you burn you DVD movie to one of these discs, then it should play on ANY xbox.
