Hello to all of you.
I'm still new here but I just felt compelled to write about this particular problem or bug in the PSP, and it happened to me when I played Rock band unplugged iso/cso on my psp via the memory stick.
And it's a bug/error/problem that will make your memory stick iso games to not appear on the game section of your xmb and it won't play, but when you open access your memory stick via the usb and pc, the iso/cso/eboots are still there.
I have a genuine sony pro duo memory stick (checked it and it's magic gate supported; also I bought it from walmart :D ).
My psp is the older/phat version.
My cfw is 5.00m33-4 and upgraded to 5.00m33-6.
I've been playing rockband so many times and quit the normal way via the Home button or sometimes just stand it by; that's why I got shocked when I found out that after I played Rockband today and quit via the "Home" button and pressing "X" for the yes on the quit section...
and then opened my game library that is foldered within my MStick to my psp; then My game didn't appear.
So I thought it's just a mistake on my part... but still, the game is not appearing.
So I searched the net hoping for an answer and saw that I just have to format my Mstick and install the rockband iso/cso again.
So no biggie.... or so I thought.
When I access the game again and quit after a few songs... my game library didn't appear again. And then, I started to panic thinking my newly bought Mstick is messing up. So I made a few test to see which one is the real culprit...
The Memory stick or the Rock band unplugged(tm) iso/cso.
1st test:
I Accessed the game iso and press standby... then turn the psp on and press home for the quit option. Then i accessed the game library but no game shows up. I thought the "standby" could have been the problem, and I could just avoid it if it is.But then I thought it must be because of the game itself.
then to 2nd test:
I formatted my Mstick and install the game iso again; but this time I didn't put the game on "standby" but hit the home button instead after the "press start" screen appeared on the rockband game; But still no luck... the game library still didn't show any game at all.
So then I went to the 3rd test:
I formatted and install again the game; but this time... I'll play a song (and it'll save) and not put the game on standby and wait a few minutes.
then I quit via the home button... but alas, it still doesn't show the games in the game library.
then I went to the 4th test:
Which I tried all the three steps above but I tried them instead on other games such as metal gear solid, innocent life, tenchu, worms open warfare, etc...
But all of them still appeared and worked on my psp game library.
(So then, I really believe now that the rockband iso/cso is the real culprit)
Then the 5th test is doing all the above tests on the 5.00m33-6... but the Rockband iso/cso didn't work either.
So the final verdict for me is; to delete the game and not play it at all. Too bad though, rockband is a good game... but man, the ecnomy is getting poor; I'll rather save money and download other games.
(Or it might have been my excuse to not spend at all, afterall I'm a cheapskate :D).
If anyone could find out some solutions for this or if ya'll can give some hints or tips to know why this problem is happening...
Please post some of it here, I and the others who had the same problem, would really appreciate it very much. If there isn't, then looks like the rockband iso/cso will probably only stay in the sharing servers.
Hope this helps. And thanks for the replies/comments too.
Glad to see I wasnt going crazy. I knew my card was good and was starting to suspect Rock Band. Is this an attempt by Devs to screw us up by corrupting or memory sticks? Any high level geeks got any idea's?
Originally posted by hooddoc: Found the problem...read this. It deletes your PSP>GAME folder only if its empty, then your iso games wont show up. Just put the folder back with a file in it and your good.
