I've been searching everywhere on how to install CFW on PSp. Can somemone explain simply and easily for me. If someone lives in LA, Ca can someone come do everything for me.

good question but you need to add more info for people to help you
what type of PSP and what firmware are you on now (orig + version or Custom+version)
many site out there for this but this site and another (don't think i can post the link here though) have good downloads....watch out as some site files are corrupt or have viruses.... don't take chances!!! this last month i used this site, previous threads and help from this site solely ...went from oe2.0 , down to 1.5, then 18 separate upgrade steps ... now on CFW 5.00 m33-4 and every game i put on Memory Stick works...took me 2 solid nights after work to get there .... but honestly, probably should only take one night.
pls advise more info... i would also include WHY you want to upgrade as it seems to help focus everyone giving you advise.... i merely wanted internet access, themes and playing Homebrew, ISO/CSO's and PSX games.... so did not need a lot of other things....
If you turn to the bottom of your psp and the last 4 digits are 100X, then your psp is moddable...keep reading. If it says 200X, then it may/maynot be moddable (just google it)... If it says 300X...then you will never be able to get CFW.
I posted this on another thread...
To find your current firmware go to system settings>system information. If it is <5.03, then updgrade (google how to upgrade to 5.03 FIRMWARE ONLY)!!!!!! If you have 5.50, i cannot help you...stop reading this...once you 5.03 firmware, and have a PSP-1000,1001,1002,1003 etc. then continue...
Follow the directions to download TIFFany...
Extract the .zip
Put the eggsploit in your PSP/PHOTO
Put h.bin in the root
Put Hellcat Recov Flasher in PSP/GAME
Turn on your PSP-1000 and go to photo...
The TIFF exploit should work in <5 tries but it will freeze your PSP several times (it is safe dont worry)
Youll know it works when this weird thingy comes up on your screen when you go to photo.(You can always go to >system settings>system information to check what firmware you have)...once it says 5.03 ChickHEN R2...go to Game and run Hellcats Recov Flasher to go to 5.03 M33-4...and your done...good luck....i got it in 7 tries...
I have a PSP 1000 with OFW 5.50. I know I should'nt have updated because it might block CFw. I mostly want CFW to play ISO games. I have seen youtube videos of people updating to CFW from OFW 5.50. IS it possible to update easily. I have spent many many hours trying to get CFW and wasted 2 batterise trying to make a pandora battery.
just ran across another posting in another thread here....see below -- they were discussing another PSP with OFW 5.5 (slim in this particular case) but they said, as many others have, that only Pandora battery will work.... then this guy posts....
from all that i have read, and i am very much new at this, i did not think possible with such a higher version of OFW .... but curious now with this guys post....

YOU ALL ARE WRONG!!!!! THERE IS A LIBTIFF OUT FOR PSPS RUNNING 5.50 FIRMWARE!!!! im not sure what mtherboard you have but if it compatible then google Libtiff 5.50 PSP and download it and run it.
Yeah, yours can be modded to CFW. Quite easily actually. I'd say your easiest way would be to use a pandora's battery and a magic memory Stick. Look a little more on youtube for instructions and tutorial. For any of the files you need you can probably find on the trusty old dl.Qj.net
go to google and search Libtiff PSP-1000 5.50...ive personally seen it in action on youtube, so just google it, download it and try it out. Or just buy a pandora battery from amazon or ebay and us the universal downgrader.

hi all i have just brought a psp 1002 ofw ver5.03 can some one help me i would like to use custom firmware how do i do it. what do i need i have got pandora battery and 2 memory stick i read i need to make a magic mem-stick. but i witch a utube video and it takes about unbricking the psp what is this and how do i do it. sorry i just could not follow the utube video.
there is a guide to creating both magic memory stick and pandora battery at this link [url=http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/708959][/url] it was the guild i used and i found it brilliant but if you have any probs just ask and i'll try to help ya as i didnt have any probs! and no it isn't just a universal unbricking method it allows you to install cfw up to 5.00m33-6 with the 1.5 kernel aswell allowing you to be able to use most homebrew apps! any probs just ask!
