I've found a new method of downloading files. I usually use utorrent and grabit (newsgroups) to download files. However, when you want to download something, sometimes the options are limited with these methods. e.g. torrents- no seeds but loads of peers, newsgroups- 3 days retention. So I started searching for other ways, it took me a while but I eventually found this method.
Things needed:
JDownloader:key piece of software
Some way of getting links to the files you want, for example search here for files

Setting Up JDownloader

1.) Open Up configuration and go to the "Download/Network" tab. I recommend you create a download folder. Make sure your settings look something like this.

Make sure the creat Subfolder box is ticked, otherwise things could get messy.
2.) Hosts tab on configuration. Tick both boxes next to the sites you will be downloading files from.

Downloading Files

1.) Get some links to the files you want to download and copy all links.
2.) Once copied, press the add button in the toolbar (big green cross) to add links.

3.) Another window will come up called the add link collective. Here you organise the package of files and jdownloader checks the status of the links.

Make sure you click the Use Subdirectory box to organise the files more.
4.) click accept all and the files will download. Thats it!

Notes
There are forums that specialise in sharing links to files, but I cant link you to any because it's advertising.
The host site that works best with JDownloader is megaupload.
