Okay, so I was gonna try doing this using Gameshark, but whenever I tried booting the Gameshark it wouldn't boot. It would always go to the PS2 Menu that was red. So then I tried using Action Replay, and it did the same thing, so I'm wondering if they only work on the phat. Anyways I found this was what I found to boot up any PS2 game with a modified ELF.
So I did that and it worked, which was nice to see after failing with gameshark and Action Replay. Anyways, I tried with just the FMCB ELF file and it would load too, but since I didn't have the install folder there, I couldn't install the full thing.
So, I would like to know if anyone has done this, and has gotten it working? I've tried the ELF for uLaunch, but for some reason it just won't boot! I've tried both the regular and uncompressed versions, and get the same thing every time.
I'm using 007: Nightfire, and when I load the level, like in the guide, it just sits at the loading screen when trying with uLaunch. With cogswap and FMBC it goes right into the menu!
So is there any other ELF Launcher that I can try? Or does anyone have any ideas?
I have this exact same problem. Except I used Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater as a boot disk. I swapped the ELF with Ulauncher and I keep getting the "Please insert Playstation or Playstation 2 format disk" screen. Everything else on the backup dick works, I can play the levels and everything, exept the Ulaunch won't load. I didn't try it with Free Mc boot ELF, but I think I know what to expect.
