Nero 8 and above don't play well with Shrink.

Option 1. output to ISO and burn manually with Nero.

Option 2. Use Imgburn.

What, pray tell, is too complicated about ImgBurn? It is by far the best burning program going. Just read through the threads and see what is recommended by the majority of the regulars.

Change your output target in DVD Shrink to ISO Image File.

Sounds like your issues lie elsewhere. Try different media or your drive is having fits. Are you running the latest firmware?

You have to be sure that the rw disks are closed out/finalized or they will not play on your standalone player. Plus they are not the best disks for archiving, others can explain to you why something with the dye I think. Anyway, get some proper disks, Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and give it try. Sorry I can't help you with Nero, not my cup of tea. Post back and let us know how it goes.

Provide a burn log so we can see everything that's going on.

And honestly, i'm not sure what is so complicated about Imgburn. It's laid out in a pretty simplistic manner.
