Hi, I just bought a new slim PS2 and installed my Swap Magic flip top cover on it. When i open up the ps2, a big black spring fell out. It sort of looks like this --OOOOOOOO---------- one end is bigger than the other. I didn't think it would matter if it was missing so I put my ps2 back together and booted it up and it will not play any games. the laser will not light up and it will not spin so i'm pretty sure it is due to the spring missing. So can anyone help me and tell me where this spring goes? This is a brand new ps2 so if i cant get it back together, im out $100. please some one help me!!

which model slim is it?
the new scph-90001s you don't need to mod the console,voiding the warranty.
all you need is to tape the lid switch above the on/off switch, and block the disc break which stops the disc when lid is open.
i seriously don't think a spring has anything to do with the operation of the disc drive, it just raises and holds your lid up.
anymore details or pictures might help
