Hey Guys,

First time poster here. Not positive if this is where I should be posting but it seems to fit somewhat with my particular issue. I apologize if my description is not great, I am computer literate but not any kind of techy. Any help offered would be much appreciated.

Over the past three years I've backed up several personal DVDS and have had this same issue occur about 4 times. To start off, I use DVDFAB and DVD Shrink to put the data on my PC and then IMGBurn to put onto disk. What happens is that on certain DVDs, I will attempt to start the burning process, usually using DVDFAB, and as soon as it starts to run my PC starts to go really slow and when I move my mouse the pointer starts to skip(not smooth transition, there in one spot and gradually skips over the screen if that makes sense). At this point I'll usually stop burning the DVD. But the BIG problem is that usually after this, I am no longer able to watch or burn any other DVDS. When I attempt to burn dvds it does that same thing every time, and also when I try to watch ANY dvds on any type of player, those burned or those I bought, the picture on all my DVDs skip and the audio is full of static and is jumpy as well.

As I said I've had this problem happen about 4 times. One time I corrected by a factory restoration using the hidden partition on XP. One time was fixed by Dell tech people downloading something for my DVD player (Think it was some kind of firmware patch). And the last time they sent me a whole new hard-drive to install because whatever caused the issue prevented me from using the hidden partition. This time I can't use the hidden partition because the new one they sent me did not have the hidden partition and the system restore option doesn't work at all.

I really don't want to have to put up with Dell tech support, sitting on the phone for 4 hours before they run out of their laundry list of things it could be and then having them send me a new hard-drive. If anyone could help me out with my situation I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you guys for taking the time to help a person in need.

Cheers
