Fist off, I want to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. There are tons of people in here that are very knowlegable about this stuff in here. I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone will take a couple of minutes and answer:

1. I have Windows XP Home Edition running on my home PC. It's a Sony VIAO with a 2.4 GHZ P4 processor pretty much decked out. For the burner, I have an external TDK 440 connected by firewire. I tried every method that I found on this site with every program mentioned and I was never able to make a successful back-up of a DVD movie. After making about 15 media coasters, I was ready to give up, but then I decided to try something a little different. Instead of using the home PC, I used my Dell laptop, which is running Windows 2000. I used DVD Shrink to rip and shrink (if needed) and I used burnatonce to burn the movies. Every attempt with the laptop has been successful, but why won't the exact same process work with the home PC? It would be so much faster.

2. This may be a stupid question, but every DVD back-up that I've made so far (8) has been using DVD-R media. Is it also possible to use DVD+R media to back-up DVD movies? My burner supports both + and - R and RW, but I wasn't sure if it would work and I hate to waste another disk. I've wasted enough already!!!

Hopefully someone out there can answer these questions or atlest shed a little light on them. Thanks in advance for the help everyone! I'll be watching for some input!

hi goodt
i dont have an answer to question 1.
but your answer to question 2.is yes,you only have to worry about standalone compatibility.
You might want to invest in a couple rw's till you get your problems solved, them coaster can get expensive.
good luck

Something on the Vaio is interfering. Install and run enditall before you try a burn. Yeah, use RW's.

It does work with XP
