I have firmware 1.51 on my xbox 360 and i burn and play games perfect, with no problems. My friend barely got his xbox modded with firmware 1.6 and doesn't play a single game except for like 3 of my games in my case. I know it has to do with the different firmware, but can someone please help me and tell me how i go about patching my games to play on firmware 1.6 cause i eventually have to update my xbox if i wanna continue to play safe online. Thanks
ermmmm.... maybe he messed up the flash somehow... cause it should play all games without any "patching"... i've never heard of patching a game for 1.6 its actually the other way around... patching wave 3 games for 1.5 firmware...
my 1.6 flashed system plays all my old games just fine... GTA4, fallout 3, etc etc... no problems...
just make sure to run all your iso's through ABGX 360 GUI using autofix level 3 and you should be fine... what his problem is i have no clue
What kind of message does he get when he tries to boot the games? Open Tray? Dirty Disc Error?
Sounds to me like a bad laser. If he is able to boot a couple of games, it might be a laser issue. You might be able to adjust the strength with a POT calibration. If the drive is a Lite-ON, there has been issues with lasers getting burned out when the user is flashing the drive.
thanks for yawls response, they helped out alot. I appreciate yawl taking time to answer my question and that what makes afterdawn so great, cause it has members like yawl guys, thanks again. After reading this i told my friend about the bad laser and he took it back and tha guy exchanged the laser out for him cause it turned out that it was tha problem.

Well if a particular download has (US) beside it, does that mean it is ntsc? Are ntsc backups the most common? Thanks btw for answering my first question.
I would say ntsc probably are the most common. But there are plenty of pal releases, and there are also region free games. You just have to find them. And if you can't, buy it, and rip it with a kreon drive.
