Ok I have a Wii with an original Wiikey. The Wiikey is on 1.9s and my Wii is currently at 3.2U. So I am wanting to play Punch Out and so update to 4.0. Figure I might as well install the Homebrew Channel now before updating to 4.0.

I do not have Twilight Princess so I can't do the Twilight hack so I am going to use Bannerbomb. Can anyone advise me on how to properly install HBC with Bannerbomb. I have downloaded Bannerbomb and extracted that to an SD card that is formated FAT. So do I install Bannberbomb first before attempting to install HBC? Do I use the HackMii Installer v0.2 to install the HBC. Sorry for all the noob questions but I am a new Noob to the homebrew wii scene.

I don't mind but I would expect someone else reading this to say search the forum as many questions are already answered, particularly in the first stickied thread by Larrylje.

Bannerbomb doesn't really get installed. It is what allows you to install stuff.
Yes you should use the HackMii installer. It comes with a file called installer.elf. Rename installer.elf to boot.elf and put it in the root of your SD card as mentioned in step 3 at the Bannerbomb link up above.

I appreciate the informative reply. Trust me I did do alot of research here and elsewhere before posting my situation. It just seemed like alot of the stuff I was reading pertained to people who were trying to softmod their Wii and mine is chipped. Also I am super cautious when attempting any upgrades so I had to post just to make sure I was headed in the right direction. I do appreciate the advice. Thanks.

Be careful though as Im having a very hard time getting VC games to install or having any of my old custom "guitar games" to work plus my old emulator disc isnt working either. So for now I can play the new punch out but not the old one :-)
