This is my first time posting on this site. I searched through the guides but could not find an answer, and I also found a thread with a similar question however there was no solution in that thread.
My question is: is there a way to burn DTS audio files to a dvd? I know they can be burned directly to a cd and be played in a player that can handle dts audio. However, is there a way to burn these dts audio files onto a dvd? I have a player that can handle these formats. It would be great if I can burn these files onto a dvd for space reasons. If anyone knows how to do this, I'd really appreciate your help. Please provide what program I need to use and how to do it. I have dvd lab pro, but I am not sure if I can use this program for my purpose. When I tried adding the DTS files to the dvd lab pro project, it told me that it needs to up-convert the KHz from 44 to 48. It has a transcoder in there, but I am not sure if the resultant file will be as good as the original. Thanks!
48000hz is what standard DVDs use, so that's why it wants to up-convert.
I don't use DVD Lab, but I imagine that it has an option to write the output to your hard-drive instead of directly to disc. You can try just converting one small clip to see if it's acceptable.
There shouldn't be any difference, though. Converting to a lower setting would reduce the quality, but going higher shouldn't change anything - it would simply be the same 44000hz sound in a 48000hz package (that is, it won't make it sound any better).
Keep in mind, though, that I've never worked with DTS audio, so I may just be talking out of my azz. :D
