Hope someone can help. I'm a long-time user of premiere 6.0 on a Sony Vaio. Was capturing analogue video through a Sony Media Converter box -- no problems. Decided to switch to Canopus AceDVio to go internal. Problems! Captures fine, because I can watch it in Windows Media Player. But now Premiere can't play smoothly in preview or from timeline, just gives me one frame updating per second or so, and no audio. Even on things previously captured and editted, I get stuttered video. Tried the Premiere Pro tryout download -- better playback, but still no audio. Thought maybe my problem was that Premiere was already installed when I put in the card, so I uninstalled both 6.0 and Pro programs, uninstalled Canopus drivers, tried installing Premiere 6.0 again after card and drivers installed. Playback was fine on previsouly captured material, so I thought I was out of the woods until I performed my first capture. Now, everything is stuttered again, including material from the hard drive, all of which used to work fine. Again, I am using 6.0, not Premiere Pro. Does anyone have a clue?

Hi, I don"t know how to fix your Problem but i think it is More a Software problem as opposed to a Hardware problem or a Problem with the ACEDVio because you said you can preview the captured Files useing Premier but not in Premier so it seems that the Captured File is Fine it is just that Premier is Haveing a Problem Playing the File Properly..I don"t know if there is a Simular setting in premier But in Vegas Video 4 there are Quality settings for the Preview Screen, and you can adjust them to Lower settings which makes the Preview be displayed useing Less Frame Per Second, so maybe there is a setting like this In Premier??As for the Audio not being there when previewing the Video ,the only thing I can think of is to make sure you have "Wave" selected as a Playback device in your Windows Audio properties because I have had a simular problems as you have when editing with the audio not being there and this was the Culprit....well Good Luck

You're kind to respond -- I actually stumbled on a solution. I downloaded the trial version of Premiere Pro, which also didn't work. Then, I tried working with the download version as though it had come bundled with the card -- the card installation instructions say to install the application software AFTER the card and drivers are installed. (I had been working all along with a computer that already had Premiere installed.) So I removed all the software and the drivers, installed the drivers, then installed Premiere. Now, everything works. It's the download upgrade, which I was thinking of purchasing anyway, but my guess is I would have had better luck with the original Premiere 6.0 if installed after the card and driver.

Thanks again.
