I'm trying not to be a pain but am gonna be one anyway. I started with a good idea! I like my films and buy a lot of DVD's which friends and family end up borrowing when they come round to say hi. The problems was some of them were going missing and never got returned and I was sick of having to pay to replace them. I bought a DVD rewriter to back up my films and then people could borrow the copied ones and if they got lost it wouldn't cost me £20 to replace them.

What a load of waffle, anyway some of my back ups work and some don't, all burned on X2 (slowest), all useing shrink and nero and all using the same media. Is there a media I can use which will run on all machines including my own? It seems to random as to which films play on which machines am thinking I waisted my money on this great idea.

Many thanks

Rob

I am using a media from my local store which was £16 for 25 so wasn't too expensive. I have heard ritek g04 -r mentioned several times its just I still have 20 or so discs left and its the second type of DVD's I have tried, though I was using X copy express which was REALLY BAD with the first lot of dics.

i can honestly garuntee you that if you invest in the ritek it wont be wasted money (you'll still have them when all you probs are solved if it aint down to media).

i buy mine online and with delivery it only works out at £19.00 for 25 and i really haven't had a failure that hasn't been down to me being and arse.

you may be as well investing in a couple of r/w dvd just untill you get things sorted.

but honestly my pc set up is nothing special......

running xp on a xp2000 pro m/c with 256mb ram, liteon dvd r/w............using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and Nero.......and i really dont have any hassles at all.

hiya rob,

you quote ££££'s so i guess like me you are in the uk.

i can only think that in the US ritek g04 are a hell of a lot more expensive than they are over here. I've found them to be about mid price so are worth the cost.

i'm pretty knew to all this myself so i just went with the flow and they work for me mate.....:)

Thanks viper,

I've decided to give it a go and ordered a pack off them from one of the links that was given to me on here.

So I guess we'll have to wait and see.
