I looked at the compatibility wiki, but couldn't find this listed.
Is "Boogie" NTSC-U Compatible with the Gator Gamma Backup Launcher on an NTSC-U wii? I'm trying to get it to work, but with gamma and usb loader both it just gets through the safety screen and freezes on a black screen, disconnecting my wiimotes at the same time...Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

what kind of discs are you using for burning? Could be a media problem. However the fact that it doesnt work with USB loader suggests there may be compatibility issues..

Ok...bit of an update...

First off, to respond to your question ...
I use TDK DVD-R discs, burnt at 4x, And I've successfully made 150+ backups with only 2 coasters. I doubt it's the media, but I'll pick up a single of verbatim and give it a whirl to check. According to the USB Loader Compaibility List Neither version of "Boogie" will play so I stopped bothering to try them on it.

Next...
I found the actual Compatibility List this morning (I've no idea what I was reading last night!). It turns out that NTSC-U "Boogie" is not listed. PAL "Boogie" works if patched to ios 249. I'll work on that...

Lastly...
I decided to try "Boogie Superstar" since it shows that the NTSC-U and the PAL versions both work. So I get the iso burned off and put it in the wii and I don't even get so far as the safety screen this time. Bam!...straight to black screen with disconnedted remotes! Now the list says it does not work as a 1:1 copy so I thought that I might've needed to patch it to 249 with the IOS Version chamger like it says to do with the "Boogie" game. I did. No help. Please folks my wife is unhappy, ergo my life has become misreable. Any ideas where I'm screwin the pooch on this one?

Seems like you've covered everything. Not all games are compatible with gamma.

I just don't understand how according to the list several people have gotten them to work if it's not compatible? I mean seriously, life will go on if I can't get them to work, but I'm confused as to why they're listed as working if they don't. I feel like it's me doing something wrong, or not doing something, that is screwing me up. I've never found a game before that was on the list, listed as working, that I couldn't get to work.

I know it is weird. The compatibility list has always worked for me, never found a game that it says works but doesnt. So yeah, it is weird. You said you burn to DVD-R at 4x. The only thing i can suggest is burning at 2.4x with maybe +R media instead. I have +R and -R media on hold. The only time I had a similar error to yours was with punch out. I burned it to a Sony -R at 4x and it didnt work, so I burned it to a Traxdata +R at 2.4x and it was flawless. So that might be worth a try.

I know I can get the +R's relatively easily, so I'll try that. I've tried burning at a slower speed, but for some reason it won't burn any slower than 4x. If I select the speed then put the disk in it will bump itself to 4x for the burn, and if I put the disk in then select the speed <4x isn't even an option. I'll definately try the +R media though. Thanks for the advice!!!

A lot of -R's dont support slow speeds such as 2.4x for some reason. Make sure you buy +R media that supports 2.4x (most do). Its not certain that burning to +R will definetly work, just a suggestion ;)

DVD-R are more compatible then DVD+R.

What firmware are you on?

This could be an issue that an IOS is not installed that needs to be for the game to work.

Also the Boogie Superstar PAL version is not region compatible on NTSC(U) systems.

If you use the USB Loader for any game that requires a MIC make sure you have cIOS38_rev12 installed.

I installed cIOS38_rev12 via your guide with no problems. Is there a way to get a list of the required ios's of a game? And is there a particular IOS needed for the mic itself? Thanks for chimin in larry! Always helps to have fresh perspective!

What firmware are you on?

You did use IOS Patcher to change the NTSC(U) version of boogie to IOS249?

You are using an NTSC(U) version of boogie superstar?

1. On firmware 4.0
2. No, but I'm going to tonight
3. Again, No. I was using the pal version. As with number 2, I'll be working on getting the NTSC-U version tonight.

OK, I got The Original Boogie ISO patched to IOS249 and it still goes through the safety screen, hangs on a black screen, and disconnects my wiimotes...only this time after about 10-15 seconds it was nice enough to restart my wii for me! I haven't gotten the NTSC-U version of Boogie Superstar yet. I've never had such silliness happen before without being able to relatively easily search for and fix the problem, I'm stumped here.

Hey I been having this problem for a bout a month now. I have version 4. twlight hack, installed gamma with 002 fix and others, but when I play boogie i patched it to IOS249 and installed the right cios but it still doesn't work. I load the game its shows the saftey screen and than when i patched it to 30 it went back to the Wii Menu and when i patched it to 249 its just goes to a black screen and freezes. All my other games work been using the right media and burner. Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Joe.
