I just bought a used PSP 1001 with FW 2.81. It came with 1GB memory stick pro duo (sandisk). The memory stick had a bunch of mp3s only, so I suspect this psp has not been modded yet as otherwise it could have brought games also. I tested some UMD games such as NFS & Ratchet and clank and they worked good. So here come my questions:
1) How do i know if the psp is already hacked to play homebrew, watch pdfs and play ISOs?
2) if not hacked, how can I hack it to do what I mentioned above plus whatever else is available? what are all the features that are available?
3) People mentions to buy a Pandora battery plus a "magic" memory stick. Others say you can create them. My battery is a Sony 3.6 V 1800mAh battery pack PSP. I guess its the one that came with it.
Some other people suggest downgrading firmare with some tools, I dont know if this requires connecting the psp to a PC with the usb cable or what?
So as you see there are many solutions apparently BUT none of them is clear. I really need a step by step guide, do u know of any or can u give me one of your own please? I flashed my XBOX 360 before, so modding is not new to me but I need to know all the steps without skipping any.
There's a guy on craiglist that says he mods PSPs but I dont know him so dont trust him. I am afraid he might end up bricking my psp.
