does anyone know a release date for this firmware?

i know 1.51 is out currently and i also understand that it takes a bit longer to do since the hitachi drives are a pain.

Don't take this the wrong way but a quick fix for the Hitachi would be to buy a BenQ. Then spoof and flash your key to the drive. This would save you waiting time on any new firmware update as BenQ is always done first. Plus, I think BenQ drives are faster and quiet.

actually its a great idea. as hitachis suck anyways. extremely picky about media brands, a pain to update, and never get new FW released when every other drive does.

Hello
I would just like an update and a second opinion please. I got into backing up games with a Kreon and was going great until I read that Kreon was no good anymore. I read that the best way was to buy a spare 360 drive and keep it on your PC for ripping only....so I ordered a Hitachi/59 and have sinced flashed it with ix1.51-59. I can see it on my PC but can't get XBC 2.9 to read(start button won't become active). Then XBC 2.9 opens Imageburn but says it is copywrite and may not work???? So do I try Imageburn anyway or am I doing something wrong?

I tried with Brutal Legend and it did not work out

Do I have correct firmware in my 59 to make backups with PC?
IS XBC 2.9 the correct software to use in the application?

Please advise. Thanks so much

Sad to say you bought the wrong drive. Only the other three drives can rip games. The rip functionality is in the ixtreme 1.6 and ofcourse there is no 1.6 for the hitachi drive at the moment.

Oh! I guess thats my own fault. Can I swap the 59 drive for lite-on thats in my xbox360 and do it that way?

If I can, what irmware will I need in the 59 to go into xbox360 to play back ups and what do I flash the lite-on with to rip with my PC and will xbc2.9 work with it then?
