But I have run into problems with it and after a lot of searching I can't find anything relevant that might help me out.
So here is what I have done and hopefully someone can help me out. I have a Acer laptop with an AMD 64 processor and Windows XP if that helps.
1) I installed the PCMCIA card and (after a bit of fussing) got the 3249 drivers off and installed the correct drivers so its now showing as VIA 6421 RAID Controller in the device manager.
2) Installed (manually) the PortIO32 drivers and they are showing up ok in the device manager.
3) Installed .net 3.5 framework.
4) Opened up the xbox and removed the sata cable and plugged my own sata cable into the sata PCMCIA card.
After all that I have my laptop powered on and the xbox plugged into into the lappy via a sata cable. I have grounded the xbox chassis onto a UK plug earth and then powered on the xbox (with the video cable in to stop errors). And run jungle flasher.
When it runs I get the 'no com ports were found' message before going into the application.
I have scrolled down the list of ports in the MTKFlash32 tab and can see my HDD and DVD drive but I can also find one that is listed as VIA 6421 but there isn't a drive detected which is not what I was expecting (TS-H943A for the Samsung).
So I decided that I had got to a stage where I wasn't sure what was going on so I packed up and thought I would seek assistance as I really am not sure if I have done something wrong.
Things I have also tried was I did have .net 2.0 and it didn't work so went up to 3.5. I have also disabled the VIA driver, removed the driver file from the windows directory and re-enabled. Still didn't work and there where less ports on the drop down in jungle flasher.
Please help, am I doing something very wrong here or is the PCMCIA card I have not going to work?
am also having same problem with benq drive, i read a tutorial where the drive doesnt actually display as being found but still allows intro, read flash. but that still didnt work for me, also dosflash and xtractor reader auto detect does not find the drive.
nothing very obvious to me, have you tried a couple different sata cables?? If you got yours with the card from ebay it could be a very low quality one, worth a shot
Also are you using the xbox to power the drive? Make sure it stays on through the whole process
ye it is powered from the xbox, but is also on all through the process 100%. it is off ebay so you could be right. i havnt tried different sata cables i will try that later , thanx
