Hi paid for my hitachi drive 360 to be flashed now the firmware needs updating and want to do it myself. Found some good tutorials I think I could follow just need to know what hardware is needed. Which sata chipset or card and so on. Also plan on buyin a new 360 (got my current one banned) if this is a different drive do i need a different sata chipset and where's a good place to buy this.
Any help greatly appreciated.

You will just have to try out your chipset. If it works, great. If not, then you will need to purchase the VIA 6421 chipset S-ATA card. The best tutorial to use is the Jungle Flasher as it is the most up to date. Purchasing a new XBOX 360 will come with a Lite-ON drive. For a Lite-ON, you will need a key reader. Example: CK3 Pro/Lite with Probe or the Xtractor PRO with Spear. Or you can make a homeade spear and I believe now there are some USB key extractors available now.

The Jungle Flasher tutorial is linked in my signature. One thing about Hitachi is you need to restore it to original firmware, then flash iXtreme.
