Where to get a Kreon Drive?

I was thinking about getting a Kreon drive since I don't want a 360 drive hanging from my pc. I haven't seen any on ebay. Thing is , don't you need to flash these with a specific firmware? Yes I have searched. I want to begin loading games into the database to help and be able to rip games so I don't have to wait for them to get into the abgx database. Games like up, night at the musuem still aren't there. Any tips on where to get one and how I flash it?

xbins perhaps? Most sites you buy the drives off of have the fw pre-flashed

i don't know jack about it, so don't quote me on it, but i have seen thousands of threads on here, and not a single one came across my screen about a new FW for that.

Yeah, it's pre-flashed I just didn't know if I had to worry about updating it, etc. What program do I use once I get it to start ripping?

ebay is the cheapest place to get one, dont go to that stupid samsungdrives.com its a joke, 15 bucks for shipping on a 2 pound drive is nuts. the newest FW for it is still the v1.0 kreon. use XBC 2.9 to rip the games, agbx to verify them if you want, (dont have to with your own rips, but i still do), and image burn to burn them. make sure you use verbs or you will get flamed by everyone on here, esp me.

Sounds good. The reson I want it is so I don't have to verify as long as that's safe. I plan on using it to upload the proper files to the database and help out. There is a list of games that have been out that I could have rented and ripped. Thanks for the tip.

no problem. renting and ripping is the best thing, lol (not saying i do it of course.....). but 3.20 for a single night rental, 20 minutes to rip it, 2 minutes to check it, and 40 to burn it. money well spent i think.

agreed. You think it's safe since I rip my own games then? Because they aren't always in the database.

i think its safe. i run them through agbx anyways, but it can verify them as i dont have the internet at home, i just check to make sure it has all the necessary files and nothing shows up in red.

Glad to know. I mainly did it for those games that aren't requested too often and love to help out the team in ABGX. Now I can rip a copied game right? Save me some space on my hard drive too.

you cant rip a copied game with xbc, but you can just make a 1:1 copy with imgburn.

I assume I would still need a kreon drive to do this right? Meaning if I want to copy a game I've already burned.

no, all you need to copy and already copied game is a normal dvd burner, well dual layer one that is.

Don't say i didn't warn you. Downloading and uploading are two different leagues. Downloading is little league, uploading is the majors. You are going draw alot of unwanted attention to yourself if you start uploading.

I am not talking about uploading a game but the proper SS files that the database needs. Are we on the same page?

Yeah, no way I would do that. I can't see uploading SS files being an issue since all ABGX is a database to compare to.
