Hey guys.

I'm new here but have been scanning the forums for quite a while.

I am a Usenet user and I use Alt binz to download my games.

After there done, I go to its folder and there are the r.00-r.XX files.

I try to extract either the first .rXX file or the last .rXX file but everytime it says that something is corrupt.

It's starting to aggravate me that I paid the money to download games quicker and now they won't even work.

Any help is appreciated!

BTW, the .rXX means XX as the number after r.

Same thing happens.

This has happened with like 7 games so far.

Do you have .par2 files as well? If so, download QuickPar and let the .par files repair your .rar files. This is a common occurance with newsgroups.

Thanks for the reply.

Just downloaded it.

For the Add Files, I added all the rar files.

Is that correct?

No.

Go back and download the par files for that game. The purpose of Quickpar and the par files is to rebuild any corrupt rar files. So when you download anything from ng's, you download the rar's and par's. You then run qp first. Once it's done then you unrar.

I am still confused.

I open up QuickPar then...

If you could give me a step by step that would be great :)

Did you go back and download the par/par2 files?

Most of the games already had Par files but I deleted most of my d/l games.

I'm downloading the Pars right now for Burnout Paradise.

Make sure they are the same pars that went with the game you downloaded. Most of the time you can't cross-mix pars for the same game.

For example, group A, group B, and group C all upload Burnout Paradice. If you downloaded group B's rars make sure the pars are also from group B. Chances are very high that group A and C's will not work.

Once you got your pars, just double click on any one of them. The first time you'll most likely get the Windows message asking which program you want to open it with. Just pick qp, of course.
