My PSP has fallen a number of times and now sometimes the screen will go go black but if I put it into hold and then take it out of hold it will go back to normal for a few minutes then go blank again... Very annoying while playing games... I think it's that the screen button is broken, any idea how to fix it?
Edit: I tried reflashing it and it didn't work, is there any way to disable a button using custom firmware?

Bit of a difficult one this, i would first suggest taking the faceplate off and inspecting the lcd connections, whilst also inspecting all connections etc just to be safe i would take a look at the power switch board and check for some kind of material that may be bridging contacts...you dont happen to know if any liquid has entered psp, if i was you i'd start how i suggest and take it from there. Dont forget, if your not familiar with the insides of a psp either get someone else to look at it or take things very slowly using a bit of common sense.

Alright, I was thinking of getting a new set of start/select buttons because I remember spilling a bit of water on it once or twice, I will try what you suggested first, though. Also, sometimes it will start blinking between the brightnesses like the button is being pressed repeatedly.

Again the blinking between brightness changes would suggest either loose or bridged connections.....worst case scenario motherboard issues however i wouldnt worry about that for now. For the blinking between brightness, the first thing i would almost definately do is check screen connections...dont forget one of the two screen connections is for backlighting, you may have some luck there.
