Hi guys,
I ve read a few threads about a similar problem, but not sure if it really is the same.
My box turns on and gives a flickering screen if it goes to channel 8, or otherwise it just goes straight to 0 and gives no picture at all. Some explain on other threads that the box turns on for a while, mine just doesnt?
any ideas?
cheers
Al

Hi cacti,
I seperated the capacitors c21 and u2 and it was just glue, at first I thought they had blown externally, possibly still internaly though...

I tried to flash it but it fails, possibly because it doesnt stay to ON position, and goes to 0 or 8 channel?

The 1st time i changed one i followed the instructions from scouser eg remove c11 reboot box and so on...But now i just unsolder the cap c21 which your replacing put the new cap on all up and running fine you will be amazed that a silly little cap can mess your box up the caps are very cheap less than 50p...Good luck let us no how you get on. Heres is the proper instructions make sure you just replace the 1 cap i had them mixed up lol.

1.Remove the cap (c21) electrolytic near the ribbon on the psu board.
2.Boot the box , it should boot to on and function correctly , the psu will hum ignore it , just let it boot to ON ,then turn it back off.
3.Replace electrolytic cap (c11) 1000 mic @10v on the psu board , resolder (c21)
thats it done.
