I don't understand how you would be able to play a game that hasnt been released? And if you're smart, you wouldnt connect to Xbox Live when playing one? That seems to be the common sense decision.

disconnecting to live makes no difference because your xbox logs what and when you play. best way, as stated is not to do it, but you can also create a 2nd silver account and save to a memory card to keep the date stamp of a game off of your hdd.of course the silver account wouldnt let you play online, but you could play single player modes.

I just unplug my ethernet and the hard drive when playing before release date.......although there are rumors that the game can still be logged on the mobo somewhere since the new dashboard is still utilized without the HD installed.
