okay so when i turn on my 360 it says E68 on screen. i looked it up and it says its a hard drive error. is there a way to fix this or am i gonna have to buy a new one?/

Try disconnecting the hard drive and then start the XBOX 360. Shut it off and then connect the hard drive again. See if that works.

i tried the first solution on this site, when i get to the part where i unplug the av cables i dont get the red lights. it doesnt load until i plug it back in..

I get the e68 occasionally but I jus take out my hdd and put it back in and it works again fine. Hold down on the little white button on the faceplate and press the eject button four times on your dvd drive to get the four digit secondary error code. Wabashman posted a guide on this at the top. Look up the code and see if it is a hard disk error. e68 might also be caused by the fan. Its most likely a faulty hard drive though and if its under warranty, you can get it repaired by Microsoft for free.
