Am pretty new to the technology. I downloaded DVD
Shink 3.17 last night and analyzed & encoded a music
video DVD(149 mins.)to the std 4.4 size. It took 2.5 hours. Now it's on my HD.
2 questions :
1.) How do I speed the process up with my 2.5g processor?
2.) How do I get the media to a blank +R DVD? Do I have the ability within my new DVD shrink via Nero or is the copying to a blank disk a separate software download?

1.) Shut down anything that doesn't have to run and don't do anything else on the comp while processing a disc. Make sure DMA is enabled for the drive you're ripping from and that the drive is set to master on whichever IDE it's on. If you have less than 512MB RAM, get more.

2.) Shrink can and will interface with Nero quite well. If you go to the "File I/O" tab in Shrink's preferences you have the option to enable burning through Nero, or you can burn seperately.

Thx for the info Nephilim. I have a software that came with my HP machine called 'record now'. Am having problems trying to copy after I used DVD Shrink. Am looking at Nero 6 via the internet. They offer an OEM suite 1 vs the ultra package. What's the diff besides the price? Can I use the OEM version or should I go Ultra?

What problems are you having trying to burn?

The OEM Nero will cover your basic burning and Ultra has a whole slew of extras. Either will do nicely.
