ok , i am a noob to xbox360 modding so pls dont bash me up if this sounds stupid..i have a few questions..
1.do all new xbox360s (arcade)from the US have lite on drives?(i'm planning to buy one later this summer)
2.whats all the noise about via chipset my on board sata controller is an nvidia mcp61 will this work without the via chipset thing?(just connecting to my motheboard through a spare sata cable?)
3.whats the thing about the CK3 if you have lite on drives?I read the tut from JF and i didnt understand the use of the CK3 only a led lights up..is it absolutely necessary?

1. if you buy a new xbox 360 it will have a lite-on drive.
2. most likely it will just try it, if it doesnt work you can buy a
sata card that will for just a few dollars.
3. you will need a way to get the key from the dvd drive, you can either buy something of your choice or make one its up to you.

I like the xtractor pro better, has usb and serial ports.

thanks a lot mates,
i think ill build one,i have soldered before a bit,
but i think i need t oconnect the probe to the pc through the port, so how does the pc recognise it??
if this question sounds stupid,
where do all the connections go?
the croc clip, the spring and the serial connector?
