Is it safe to Wii System Update with D2pro 5/9 wire Modchip?

I have a Wii with a D2pro 5/9 wire Modchip installed. I recently downloaded and coppied EA Sports Active, however when I load the DVD, instead of getting the Sports Active logo I get the Wii System Update. Is it safe to do a System Update or do I have to do something different (such as load an Update file from a DVD)?

I am still a little bit of a newbie on this, therefore any links to files as well as instructions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
