Hi there i just bought a new lite-on drive DG-16D2S because of a previous attempt to mod it had failed. ("Previous Drive DG-16D2S also")Because i didn't back up the file's ("I know that was stupid") i was wondering if i could just put in the new drive "which is the same as the old one" just like that without any .bin files and would it actually work? Because every lite-on with the same model nr. and type of firmware has the same .bin files right?

Thankx for the help in advance...

the DVD drive and the motherboard are linked by a DVD key ... the keys must match for the xbox 360 to play games

it doesnt matter that the model numbers match or whatnot... its irrelevant...

you must get the DVD key from your old drive or find the backup files... get a program to undelete them or you've wasted $200 on the xbox 360 as its now a DVD player

Hm ok i understand... So there is hope :) what program do you suggest i mean there is a lot of programs suited there for i ask your approval for any of these programs... I have "recover my files", en a lot more... but it should be a program that can undelete data from the drive right?

If you were not able to obtain the DVD key from the first Lite-ON drive, there is no hope. If the drive's firmware is erased or the drive is bricked, there is no recovering this XBOX 360.

Can you tell us what happened to the original Lite-ON drive?

Donaldo is correct. You need the DVD key from the original drive.

If you can hook it up and eject the tray, then you have a firmware on the drive. You should try to hook it up and obtain the key with Jungleflasher.

even dough every little thing is running on windows i might be able to recover some info if i connect the drive to the computer even dough it's not recognized with this program i could get almost any data from the computer what was erased by it or every little thing that was applicating with it... the bits and bytes aren't really deleted unless you over wright the data with something else.
If this might not work (* could be *) but yet if you don't try don't buy anyway's is there a way to read the mobo's key? or info on it?
Because if the mobo contains the key that must be valid with the drive there must be a way to see the info.

Ok... how did you get the dummy bin in the first place? You have to use a probe to get the dummy bin info.

i couldn't because if i connect the usb connection of the ck3 pro it will not eject... i need to get it on and look for any traces left behind. Next thing i just understand is you can't read from the motherboard :S too bad... but... you can check with the right software what's on the drive only problem is this software i got won't search that deep so i need to do some google and find something on the deep bit's search.

dude... you can't unerase the firmware...

when i said unerase i thought you had a copy of the dummy.bin or orig.bin but erased it ... i meant unerase off your computer HD not the DVD drive...
