Hey, im trying to flash my banq drive to 1.6, and it already has 1.4 on it
i open the drive half way etc
now when i press the intro / device ID on jungleflasher i get the replug drive within one second thing, and i do. the drive gets into vendor mode
but when i press read... i get the error
Invalid Status 0x50
i seriously dont know what am i doing wrong
please help me im going to kill myself soon :P

Don't put the drive in half tray status. Just leave it closed, send the Intro, and then power cycle.

Your drive isn't ruined. Since it is a BenQ, it supports Bad Flash recovery. Which means you can send a chip erase and start over. Looks like it froze when it tried to write bank 1. Maybe try a different SATA port.
As long as you READ the original firmware first and saved it, you will be fine. You just need to get the flash to take.

well now heres the deal
the drive is stuck half open
i tried turning the xbox on and off and on again, it stays open.
and when i plug the drive into the pc with the sata cable.... the pc freezes
and yeah the problem was that the xbox turned it self off in the middle =[

OK.... im really screwd. theres nothing i can do, if i start up the xbox with the drive conected to my pc, the pc just freezes. i cant do ANY thing....
oh my god =[
help me.... please ;<

You need to make a bootable jump drive and put DosFlash v1.7 on it. You will take to files from the DosFlash16 folder (dosflash.exe and dosflash.typ) and put your custom firmware on the jump drive. Then boot to the jump drive and type dosflash.exe. It will list all of your drives, select the SATA port you know what your BenQ drive is connected to. It might prompt you to power cycle, do so to get it into vendor mode. At this point, type W and then the name of your custom firmware and it should write.
Remember, as long as you have the DVD key you will be fine. The drive just doesn't have firmware on it!

are you using a 6421 card? Did you delete the viamraid.sys in c:\windows\system32? That's what causes the freezing

i dont have the dvd key... i do have the original firmware tho
infact i have so many copies of it i'l have to format all the pc's in my house and the entire internet to lose it :S
any way i tried to boot my pc with a usb drive, nothing happens, the screen remains black with one _ flashing
i formatted it with a HP usb format tool and a windows 98 boot files

Did you try the other port on your card? Also, make sure you are using Jungle flasher 1.62

Resend the Intro to the SATA port you know your BenQ is on and power cycle when prompted.

At first i inserted a wav3 game that i patched into being wav2
and it didnt work
i felt like runing headfirst into the wall.
then i inserted a wav3 game, worked
