Hello,

I have recently flashed my xbox 360 drive (1.51) and have backed up some games then burned them to disc. I set the layer break and burn them but when I try to play one it gets to the start screen and just sits there (it doesn't freeze because I can option out to my dashboard). The other gives me a disc read error or dirty disc error.

I've searched all over the net looking for ideas to fix this issue, but no luck so far.

I'm really confused...

I'm using a I/O Magic External Burner. Computer isn't exactly the newest thing either.

Also using DVD+R DL Verbatim.

Any suggestions or help would be awesome.

Just tired of burning coasters.

Thanks.

What speed are you burning the games at? Also are these Verbatims made in Singapore or India?

Edit - You wouldn't by chance have a Hitachi drive? If so, what ROM version?

I burned at 2x.

The Verbatims I have were made in Singapore.

I have a Samgsung drive.

Do original games play fine? If the burns are good, might need to increase the laser strength so it can read through the backup dye. Google POT calibration.

Originals are playing fine. I will look into POT calibration.

What if my xbox isn't the problem? What else would it be?

If you are able to test the games out in a different modded console, you can rule those out if they work.

I don't have access to another modded console. Am I out of luck?

Well you can still adjust the laser strength and see what that does for you.

I checked out that tut and that isn't something I feel comfortable doing. Perhaps I'll just suck it up and try it.

if your burner is old it could be producing too many errors when you burn the games. Try burning an audio cd and/or dvd at 2x and see if there is skipping at all.

All dvds I've burned recently have worked fine, no skipping. I don't know what to do or try.

Sorry... I forgot to mention that I've seen other burned games working on my console.

Just been frustrated... it slipped my mind to mention that.

where the burned games that did work burned on your dvd burner or someone elses? What program do you use to burn?

Does anyone think I should reburn a copy at 1x speed? Or does that not matter? I burned at 2x before.

If you can use a different burner, I would try that. If it gives you the same issue, its your drive.
