So far, it is just speculation at this point. It appears the user is claiming the key's are coming back all 00's. We are unsure if it is user error, or a new protection. Any users with this revision please email iriez at xbins dot org with any information. If it truely is new protection, we will need to get our hands on it! Donors will be taken care of!

I knew a firmware revision was going to happen sooner or later. Let's just hope the key can be dumped and it will take ix1.6. Otherwise they are going to have to decap this one too.

From experience, I can assure you a Lite-On 83850c's key can be dumped. However, I have encountered missing serial key information (Laser & PCB) during extraction. Manually entering it in using Jungle Flasher was a sinch. No big deally-o.

I had a similar issue with a benq drive coming back with a much larger key if you guys saw that post. A simple Hex editor and copy and paste should into the bin file corrects it, I think we'll be okay. A new JF will need to be released to address this.

So the 83850C drive took the flash of ix1.6 based off of 74850C version?
Just check XBOXscene and the forum is saying it is able to be flashed. But like you said, some had an issue with missing serial data.

I use the xtractor pro and have had 0 problems via USB. What method are you using? Serial? I would assume a new JF will address these issues.

I think it just happens sometimes. Maybe different boards as I have seen quite a few people with missing serial information, but it is really simple to fix.
I used the xtractor w/ usb and had no problems myself. But I've seen others who have. Just something to keep an eye out for. Not sure if MS is banning people for missing laser/PCB info but it can be pulled so who knows. Just have to make sure its there to be safe.

I use a homemade USB probe and the latest Jungle Flasher.
Missing serial data can be located on the laser & pcb board then entered manually using the advanced tab.
