Hi there,
I hve the box,every now and then some chanels freeze and i can`t retreive them,what shall i do,pls help.

Ho Mooley,
Do i need to connect with my pc to download firmwear,i hve just tried at work and i am upto open file.pls explain in details,sorry to bother you.

to on.
Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
11. Go to scrambled channel and wait for it to unscramble the channels
12 then watch tv.
13. Details how to sort favourites etc is in the manual.
Get a Bin c=image for your area though and this will
save you a bit of work.

Hi there,
Can anyone please help with where to find the latest firmware for the box.I've been trying to download using the sites suggested but to no avail. The files won't open. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Currently only rte1, rte2 and tv3 showing.

If you're sure it's the box then it's a starview 2 and the file you downloaded is a rar file. Just go to google and type in Winrar and download and install it, it's free. It's exactly the same as winzip.
You won't get any premium channels back here in Ireland and also you'll be missing some others such as E4+1, More4+1, Hallmark and a couple others.

Mooley,
Had to go away for sometime.Tried to open the firmware file with winrar but no success at all. Is there something am not doing right?

Mooley,
I honestly can't open it. It is getting downloaded on my pc quite alright and then i save it on my desk. But when i try to open it , it's telling me windows can't open that type of file and suggests other alternatives of opening which am trying to do with winrar but no success. pls help.

Mooley,
Correct me if am wrong.I am trying to download the file from 4mysharing.com, save it on my desktop en then trying to open it with winrar.when i reach this stage and click the open button nothing is coming back. It's taking me back to winrar downloading again.is there something wrong am doing? Really sorry to bother you

No problem mate we'll get there. It sounds like you didn't install Winrar properly. What icon has the firmware rar file on your desktop??
It should have 3 books stacked with a strap around them which means it's associated with Winrar. If the firmware doesn't have this icon it's not installed correctly.

Thanks Mooley.It has three books indeed sitting on a big gold book with a strap but not going all round them.The books are green, blue en purple

Thats good cos it means winrar is installed. You should be able to just double click the firmware .rar you downloaded and it will open in Winrar??

Hi Mooley,
I am also new to this forum and in the same situation as chaby.
This is what i have done. I have downloaded the following in my document:
3 books showing with strap(green, blue, pink)and it has "the box-4.57_& loader" next to it. when i open the 3 books a box appear showing 3 lines type..folder, file bin and application.
also in my document there is another book showing the 3 books on the front cover with the same colours next to this book its showing WRAR 380.
So far have i done everything correct ?? your help will be appreciated. Alternativley you can email me a contact number to
bwana_26@yahoo.co.uk. I will contact you and you could talk me through the process.

Mooley,
I'v been tryn to open this file ever since en what is happening is exactly what Mboro has said.The other thing is that the file is opennig but it appears to be encripted.

When you download 'The Box 4.57 & Loader.rar' there is two files contained in this rar file.
thebox_h20081222_457eE_api.bin
v4.03_051005.exe
