First off, sorry for all the text.
I ordered the chip and its on the way. I'm trying to get as much knowledge on the install as I can before it arrives so I can install it successfully. I have a GH-040-02 motherboard, and there aren't any diagrams for it, but others have used GH-040-12 diagrams as they are the same, so no problem there. My question is, is you look at this, the Y point on box 6 is on a small point that I think I'll have a hard time soldering, and I'd like to avoid it if possible. I looked here, and I know its a different chip, but the X point (which I'm assuming is the same as the Y point in the previous picture) in box 2 is in a much easier solder point. Is it safe for me to solder to that point instead of the location in the first and still have the chip work? I found a great picture of an install with the exact same board as me, and this is what I'm planning on my install looking like- here. It actually looks like he did what I was talking about, but I'm not quite sure. He also soldered the W point in a different location (compared to the first picture). Is it safe for me to do that as well? I'm assuming that his install worked, but I'd just like a little feedback before I install, just to be 100% safe. Thanks for any replies.
