Can i play worldwide games on a AUS PSP?

hi guys,

im about to buy a psp on ebay, it was purchased in australia so i assume that it will only play aus games.

when i go to my torrents page all the psp titles have certain regions in brackets [USA], [EUR] can i download these sorts of games and just copy them to my memory stick and play them straight away?
or do i have to download some firmware, patches or anything?

thanks guys im very new to all this stuff but am very interested n it
hope to hear from someone.

im in uk running 5.00m33-6 on psp phat and can run jap usa eur games, so i guess once you have CFW on psp no probs what psp you looking to get
