I am currently playing Prototype on my 360 and I am not sure how it's working (bar a few random disc is unreadable errors sometimes)
My 360 was bought in Indonesia about 1.5 year ago. I have no idea what they did to it but I am able to play burnt games (Japan/Asia regions only, though)
I am under the impression that Prototype is a 'wave 3' game and therefore requires the latest update of ixtreme. I have not ever updated my 360 since I got it and so I originally thought it wasn't going to work. But it does.
So I'm wondering if there was some other way to get X360s to play burnt games other then ixtreme? or am I just wrong about wave 3 needing the latest update?
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
If i flash the firmware to the latest ixtreme, would it override the unstealth firmware and let me go on live safely or is my machine just screwed for live
also when you say hybrid modified copy youre talking about the game, not the firmware/machine, right?

Yes it would replace the current firmware and yes, you would be more safe on Live, but you can never be 100% safe.

Wave 3 games need either old unstealthed firmware (not a good idea), iXtreme 1.51 or iXtreme 1.6 to run. Make an image of the game with ImgBurn and then run that through abgx360, then you'll be able to tell if it's been modified. If it has, abgx360 may be able to autofix it, in which case you can burn it to a new disc. If you want to be as safe as you can be on Live, your best bet is to get iXtreme 1.6 installed and then check your games with abgx360. You can check them direct from disc, but if you want to be able to fix any bad ones you'll need to create an image and re-burn as necessary.

Yes. There are possibilities of modifying a game with a wave 2 video partition. But that directly lights a flag if you ever use such a game on live, so it's not a recommended option. Also these modified games don't boot when using iXtreme 1.6.
I would flash the drive to 1.51 (Hitachi) or 1.6 (all others).
