Divx to CD-RW?

First of all is this possible. I had one of my DVD's on my HD and copied it onto a blank CD-RW disk in Divx format. It seemed to copy fine, after about 4 hours, but when i tried it on the PC after it had completed, all that happened was that i could hear the film but see nothing? The DVD copying programme supports Divx so thats not the issue either.
