I have a Wiikey, and everything was working fine. I downloaded the 4.0 update through the nintendo network and played Punch-Out which worked fine. Now, today for some reason, none of my backups are working, not even Punch-Out! Any ideas? Do you guys think it's update-related?

So you updated to 4.0, then you played Punch Out, then you turned off your Wii and then the next day your turned it on and then it just wasn't working?
Do original games work?

Try making a one to one backup of an original game and seeing if it will play. No brickblock no IOS249 no trucha sign just one to one.
:) Do it with a game that won't cause any problems like Wii Sports or something.

Your chip probably died or the solder connection broke off.

I'd at least give it a try.
So the firmware of the Wiikey is up to date?
The update to 4.0 shouldn't have stopped your mod chip from working.
It's pretty tough to deduce it was working and then all of a sudden it isn't.
Or maybe like Gorash said, your mod chip is just dead.
If you suspect that this is the case then I would at least try softmod before doing anything drastic.

As far as I know the firmware is up-to-date. I updated it a few months ago when I first got it, so unless something new came out very recently then it should be okay. And would I even be able to softmod after downloading the update? I remember reading it's difficult, but maybe I read something wrong..

Awesome, thank you man. And for whatever reason, if the problem isn't with the chip, will it and the soft-mods conflict with each other at all or am I okay?

Also, if I need to get an SD card, how important is the size? What exactly will I be putting on there?

BTW quick update, I re-opened the Wii, disconnected the Wii-Clip and re-connected it, and perhaps that did the trick because everything is working again. Thanks again for all the help though, I appreciate that
