First off thank you to all of the members who contribute to this site. I've done quite a bit of searching the past month and this site is rich in information. I tried to do most of the research myself and not post any stupid "how do I hack the xbox" "can I play on live" etc. I had bought a handful of RROD and e74 machines from ebay Grapevine and Flower Mound Texas hookup (I always trip how they are so close to Mesquite and seemed to have pallets of broken xboxes and I think gamestop hq is located their 2) and have been experimenting with the boxes as I received them back from Microsoft. Flashed a Benq first a few days which I ran into a few problems with jungleflasher not recognizing drive. I played around with dosflash and was able to get the benq flashed. So I had received the ck3 yesterday and decided to try a liteon. That's where my problem starts. I tried looking for a few pics of how to connect the kit properly to the drive and the computer. I hooked it up and followed instructions the best I could for the diagrams and tutorials I had. Anyway I played around with it trying to get it to recognize the drive for a few hours. I had jungle flasher freeze my pc several times when I went through the ports on DVDkey. For some reason I kept thinking maybe the reason it wasn't recognizing it was because I was doing the tray half open method wrong. So I was trying literally everything switching power back and forth from xbox to the ck. I was careful the 5 times I switched it back and forth to make sure that the power cable was inserted the right way. I then tried using dosflash and still don't think I ever got it to recognize the drive. So I'm pretty sure I managed to not kill anything during all this. And then right before I was gonna call it a day....I switched the drive to get power from the xbox box and forgot that the drive was upside down and plugged in the power the wrong way. It took about half a second after I powered it up for the board to start letting off smoke beofre i could pull the power. So I'm guessing my drive is dead. Is their anyway for me to do anything with this box or just chalk it up as a casualty of a bad flash? I have a spare benq I had ordered but as I understand I need the info from my burned liteon? Sorry about my wall of text just wanted to be thorough. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I am sorry about the burned up Lite-ON. But unforturnately there is no was to get the information off of it to spoof it to another drive. If the controller chip burned up (or anything for that matter), it is impossible. If this was a return from MS you might be able to send it back saying it didn't work or getting E74 or RRoD again.

Also, on the connectivty kits power cable, I put a dot on the top of mine to make sure I am plugging it in correctly. Just a thought...
